Horizon Criterion AM-FM Tuner NC-1000

Description

Horizon Criterion AM-FM Tuner NC-1000. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
My Grandfather purchased this after WW2 and used it for many years.  I acquired it from his estate and I used it for several years as a garage radio.  Eventually it got boxed up and put away in storage.

I cleaned it up with a couple of cans of contact cleaner, reseated tubes, etc.  The device powers on and will pass a signal through to a speaker, I used an old CD player for input.  Music comes out, didn't sound great and I didn't push it too hard.  The external amp (which is for sale here):  http://ebay.us/AYjGRT?cmpnId=5338273189
is the one my Grandfather purchased with this radio, it's just as old, and hard to say where exactly the sound quality was being affected.
While I can safely state it works, I will also state that it certainly needs to be re-capped, resistors tested and probably a few replaced.  The control panel light is burned out but has power to it, it's a small AC light bulb that is easily replaced.
This would be a nice project for someone who is interested and should not be very expensive to return to top working condition.  All of the tubes are still available commercially and the ones in the device now work fine.
